Man dies in motorcycle accident
A 22-year-old man
was killed Saturday night after he struck a road sign on his motorcycle.
Michael E. Fehsenfeld Jr. was pronounced dead at the scene at Stones Crossing
Road and Old State Road 37 from severe head trauma, according to the Johnson
County Sheriff’s Office. Investigators have determined Fehsenfeld was
under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash, the sheriff’s office
said. A helmet couldn’t be found at the scene, Johnson County Deputy
coroner Dan Meagher said. Fehsenfeld was traveling north on Old State Road
37 and struck a curve warning sign at Stones Crossing Road. The man was found
just a few feet from his bike, Meagher said. According to witnesses,
Fehsenfeld had been operating his 1997 Suzuki motorcycle in an unsafe manner,
the sheriff’s office said. He had just moved to Johnson County from
Marathon, Fla. (Reprinted with permission from the Daily
