Fire totals mobile home

Five White River Township residents are homeless after a fire destroyed their mobile home.  About $6,000 in damage was done to the unit.  Because the home is 15 to 20 years old, that is nearly a total loss, said Jim Engmark, spokesman for the White River Fire Department.  Residents were home in the Shady Brook Heights mobile home park when the fire started around 7 p.m. Tuesday, Engmark said.  No one was injured, he said.  Investigators have not yet determined what caused the fire, he said.  The fire started before storms rolled through the county last night.  Because of the timing, the department does not believe the blaze was related to the weather, Engmark said.  Firefighters spent about 45 minutes putting out the fire and another two hours cleaning up and investigating, he said.  (Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal)
