Three injured in crash on County Road 144

An accident just before 4 p.m. Tuesday blocked traffic on State Road 135 for almost an hour and sent three people to the hospital.  Bargersville police and White River and Bargersville fire departments responded to the accident at State Road 135 and County Road 144.  Police said witnesses reported that a red sport utility vehicle turned west onto County Road 144 and was struck by a black pickup that was southbound on State Road 135, Bargersville Police Chief John O’Rourke said.  The SUV driver, Barbara Meece, 18, of Reelsville, and a female passenger, who was not identified, had to be cut out of the front seat.  Meece and the passenger were taken to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, O’Rourke said.

They seemed alert and stable before they were transported, said Mike Pruitt, division chief and spokesman for the Bargersville Fire Department.  The driver of the truck, Glyn Tabor, 42, of Nineveh, was transported to Johnson Memorial Hospital for what appeared to be minor injuries, O’Rourke said.  (Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal)
