Lightning struck close enough to White River Township Fire Station 52 that it caused some damage there yesterday.  The station, located at Meridian Parke Lane and Fairview Road, sustained minor damage to its phone system, computer tower, and cable television system.  Although a direct source-entry could not be located, it was believed to have struck a utility pole somewhere behind the station, based on the type of equipment damaged.  Damage is preliminarily estimated at around $5,000.
