The White River Township fire department recently added two new features to its web site.  Visitors to the site can now view live streaming weather data and web cam video shots from the Station 53 radio tower.  Both projects are a result of added benefits to increasing department resources available in an emergency.  The weather station provides extremely detailed and timely weather data that is sometimes critical in a hazardous materials situation.  The weather data is live and is also reported to the National Weather Service for use in model production and forecasting.  Due to limitations of the Internet and associated servicing equipment, the web cam is no longer a live stream, however "screen shots" taken every one minute are uploaded for viewing.
