Man pinned against truck in wreck

A Greenwood woman told police a frosty windshield caused her to hit a trash collector Friday morning, pinning the man between her car and a garbage truck.  Leigh Ann Hasquin, 29, told police she did not see the worker or the truck because she had just left home and her windshield was still covered with frost.  The truck was parked along a curb 150 feet east of Leisure Lane on Easy Street and workers were collecting trash when the crash occurred.

Kevin Poore, 52, of Seymour, was putting trash in the back of the truck when he was struck.  He suffered severe injuries to his left leg and was transported to Wishard Hospital in Indianapolis, Maj. Randy Werden of the Johnson County Sheriff’s office said.  A second worker was uninjured.  Hasquin complained of chest pain.  She and two passengers, a 6-year-old girl and a 3-year-old boy, were transported to Community Hospital South for observation.  Together the vehicles sustained $5,000 to $10,000 worth of damage.  Hasquin’s vehicle was towed.  (Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal)
