Local Union wins contest
White
River Township firefighters, representing Union Local 4252, participated in the
Best Pork Tenderloin in Indiana contest Friday night at the Public Safety rally
held at the Wayne Township Fire Department Training Center. The public
safety rally was a fund raiser for Mitch Daniels, candidate for Governor of
Indiana. The contest consisted of two categories, amateur and
professional. White River Township Fire Department Local 4252 was entered
into the amateur category. Three firefighters, Jory Cox, Tony Slusher, and
Josh Justice (pictured below) were the representative chefs for Local 4252.
The contest was being judged by several celebrity judges which included Cheri
Daniels, Mitch Daniels wife. The group went on to win first place,
received a large trophy, and then had their photo taken with Mitch Daniels. The
trophy will be placed at the White River Township Fire Department Headquarters
in the trophy case to be displayed for the public and the department. The
judges subsequently made comments later that the White River tenderloins were
the best overall!
