FDIC under way
The annual Fire Department Instructor's Conference (FDIC) got under way today with the first two days reserved for Hands-On-Training (H.O.T.) evolutions. The event, one of the largest in the nation, draws firefighters from around the world for the week-long convention in downtown Indianapolis. This year, a location in White River Township holds the honor of being an official training site for one of the H.O.T. evolutions. Through an agreement with the Mount Pleasant Christian Church, a donated house will be used for the live fire training exercises. Once training is completed later this week, the house will be burned completely down. White River Township firefighters assisted in preparing the house as well as facilitating support activities during the event.
