WRTFD Chief Officer receives honor
During
the regular meeting of the Johnson County Firefighters Association Thursday
evening, White River Township Fire Department Deputy Chief Scott M. Cassin
received the highest award given to a past or present firefighter in Johnson
County. The Dick VanValer Service Award is presented annually to one
Johnson County firefighter, either actively serving or previously serving, who
displays extraordinary commitment to their community.
Chief Cassin has been with the White
River Township Fire Department since 1986, where he was promoted last January to
the position of Deputy Chief. Scott's hard work and dedication to the fire
department and the community that it serves is never ending, thus making him the
best recipient for this year's award. Congratulations Scott!
