Open house a success
The fifth annual Fire Prevention Week Open House was again a success. This year's open house was held at Station 53 on Mullinix Road from 4pm to 7pm on October 8th. This also happened to be the two year anniversary of the opening of the building. Many families took advantage as they got tours of the building, close-up views of the trucks, and of course, cookies and punch. Firefighters handed out fire prevention paraphernalia to the adults and gave tips on things they could do to make their family safer in the event of an emergency. The open house is in conjunction with Fire Prevention Week, a week-long look at fire safety sponsored by the National Fire Protection Association. See the related story by clicking HERE.
