Fire department utilizes new equipment marking system

       Thanks to Firefighter Ryan Cox, and after over a month of planning, our new equipment labeling system is currently being implemented.  Ryan and a few dedicated helpers have begun the tedious process of marking each piece of loose equipment on every apparatus.  The new system utilizes a super-tough reflective sticker that displays the department’s name as well as a color band indicating which apparatus the equipment is stowed on.  Additionally, all fuel cans have been marked with fuel-resistant stickers that indicate the fuel type that they contain.  The only pieces of equipment not marked are most fire extinguishers and disposable equipment, due to their recyclable nature.  Each apparatus is marked on the chauffeur-side outside rear-view mirror to indicate the apparatus band color (see photo below).  The entire process should be completed in the next few weeks.
