Fence fire damages negligible

       Firefighters  believe someone purposely set fire to a fence post near the Fazoli's Restaurant off State Road 135 early Thursday morning.  Firefighters were called to the area behind the restaurant at 1695 Meridian Oaks Drive about 3 a.m.  They said it appeared that someone had used an accelerant to start the fire, according to a Greenwood police report.  The fire was originally reported as a trash receptacle or mini-barn fire, the report said.  The fire caused minimal damage to the fence, but firefighters said it burned for an extended period before they were called to the scene.    (reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal)
