Accident Injures Teen, Closes Road

Morgantown Road was closed for about 45 minutes Friday afternoon after an accident trapped a woman in her car.  An unidentified 19-year-old woman lost control of her vehicle while driving southbound on Morgantown between County Line and Fairview roads about 3 p.m., White River Township Battalion Chief Carey Slauter said.  Witnesses said she swerved to one side of the road and then the other before going off the roadway into a small creek, Slauter said.  Firefighters got her out of her inverted car and took her to Methodist Hospital to be treated for chest pains and a possible head injury.  She was alert and conscious the entire time, he said.     (Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal.)
