Truck rolls over when load of bricks shifts
A truck carrying bricks flipped off the road Monday morning and landed upside down in a nearby yard, trapping the driver for about 30 minutes. The accident occurred on State Road 144 in Bargersville, just east of State Road 37. The truck’s driver, Alberto Deviana, 43, of Indianapolis, overcorrected a turn, and the bricks shifted in the quad-cab truck, forcing it to flip over, according to Lt. Jerry Pickett of the Johnson County Sheriffs Department. Jose Morales, 24, and Artemio Pena, age unavailable, walked away from the accident with minor injuries. Both were treated and released at the scene. Deviana, meanwhile, remained trapped in the vehicle. Once extricated by members of the Bargersville and White River Township fire departments, Deviana was transported to Wishard Memorial Hospital in Indianapolis with a neck injury. The injury is not life threatening, Pickett said. Although police officers detoured traffic at County Road 625W and S.R. 144, motorists didn’t experience any backup. Alcohol was not involved, and no charges are being sought. (Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal)
