Treetop rescue
Ten-year-old Anthony Burianek, above center (in photo below), climbed the highest tree in his life Thursday afternoon. Then he got stuck. White River Township firefighters had to bring in a ladder and ropes to bring the boy down unharmed. His parents, Mark and Joy, spoke with him afterward about the danger of his adventure. Above right (in photo below), an emergency crew removes a ladder from the tree Anthony climbed. He reached branches about 10 feet above the ladder. (Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal)
