New web site now online

       After several months of preparation and writing code, the department's new web site is now officially online and viewable to anyone in the world.  "All you need is an Internet connection", said Tom Arkins, one of the co-creators of the site.  "Just point your Netscape or Internet Explorer browser to www.wrfd.org and you can begin surfing", he added.  The other co-creator, Scott Cassin, is also the department's Assistant Chief.  He and Arkins bought the name a few months ago and began putting the site together in what they say will be a work in progress.  "Our goal is to start out simple and add features and content as we go", said Cassin.  "We just wanted to be one of the first fire departments in the country to 'go online'", Cassin remarked.  Look for updated sections in the coming months.  (Reprinted with permission from the Greenwood Gazette)
