Thank you Meijer and Lowes
Chief Michael Dutton and the White River Fire Department send out a hearty thanks to the Greenwood Lowes and Meijer Stores for helping educate over 4,000 area students during Fire Prevention Week, October 6-12. Meijer store director, Dave Poletti, presented the White River Fire Department with 5,000 Fire Safety Coloring Books, donated by Meijer stores, while Lowes store manager, John Alston presented the WRFD with 100 smoke detectors to be delivered to children whose homes do not have a smoke detector.
Both Lowes and Meijer made it possible for the WRFD to visit all five Center Grove elementary schools during Fire Prevention Week, October 6th-12th. The Fire Fighters visit classrooms to educate kids on Fire Safety techniques such as stop drop and roll and cool burn. They also passed out Fire Prevention Coloring Books and pencils and gave detectors to children whose homes don’t have them. (Reprinted with permission from the Greenwood Gazette)
