Fire damages White River Township home

A kitchen fire left a White River Township family homeless after it caused $45,000 worth of damage to their home at 1108 N. Morgantown Road.  At 11:02 am. Friday, units from the White River and Greenwood fire departments arrived at the home of Dan Walker.  The fire, which started in the kitchen, was brought under control in 10 minutes, said Jeff Wilson, battalion chief for the White River Fire Department.  No one was home when the fire began, Wilson said.  (Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal)
