Fire heavily damages White River home
A blaze broke out in a White River Township home on Sunday while the owners were away at church. Firefighters from the White River Township Fire Department responded to the call in the Hunting Creek subdivision off of Smith Valley Road. "Fire was already venting itself out the front door and a window when we arrived," said Captain Scott Cassin from the fire department. "We made entry through the rear of the home and extinguished the fire pretty rapidly and without incident," he added. Investigators believe a coffee pot that was left on started the fire, however it is still under investigation. No damage estimate was available at press time, but it was believed to be extensive. No one was reportedly injured during the fire.
