Firefighter involved in auto accident

A firefighter from the White River Township Volunteer Fire Department, who was responding to an emergency call, was involved in an automobile accident on the way to the scene.  Firefighter Ken McCourt, Greenwood, sustained only minor injuries following the crash in the 300 block of north Peterman Road.  McCourt, who had his blue light on, was passing a motorist who he thought was pulling over to let him by when the motorist pulled into his driveway and into the path of McCourt's car.  The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.  McCourt was originally responding to a report of a fire alarm at the Fountainview Place nursing home on west Main Street.  That call called turned out to be a false alarm.
