Learning to fight fire with fire

       Greenwood firefighters, above, face an attic full of smoke Saturday afternoon during training exercises at the old Knights of Columbus building on the Alpine site on Emerson Avenue north of Main Street in Greenwood. At left, Greenwood volunteer Jim Campbell prepares gas bombs to start the training fires. The building, which was to be torn down anyway, served as a training ground for Greenwood, White River Township and Whiteland rural fire departments.  (Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal)
