Home heavily damaged by blaze
An attic fire swept through a White River Township home last evening leaving a family temporarily homeless. The home owned by Terri Pellow, 4139 Willow Wind Drive, sustained heavy fire, smoke, and water damage throughout the one-and-a-half story structure. White River Township volunteer firefighters were first to arrive and called in help from neighboring Greenwood and Bargersville Fire Departments. The fire was believed to be caused by an overheated recessed light fixture in the ceiling of the family room. No one was injured in the fire that took several hours to bring under control. No damage estimate was available at press time but is expected to be extensive. Some of the photos below were taken two weeks following the fire.
