Home raffle called off
The
Greenwood Jaycees and the White River Volunteer Fire Department have called of
the raffle of a $92,000 home near Greenwood. Dane Meyer, Greenwood Jaycees
President, said the raffle was called off because of sluggish ticket sales. He
said the groups sold 64 tickets at $100 each. They needed to sell 1,000 tickets
before the raffle could be held. The drawing was set for Saturday. Another
raffle sponsored by the Greenwood Little League, is going strong. Sandi Finlison
of the Little League said nearly 600 of the 1,400 tickets needed to be sold have
been sold for the Dec. 15 drawing for a $75,000 house located next door to the
house that was offered by the Jaycees and fire fighters. Meyer said the money
brought in by the Jaycees and fire department raffle is going to be returned.
