Raffle begins for new house

The Greenwood Jaycees and the White River Township Volunteer Fire Department today began selling raffle tickets for a new home in Valle Vista valued at more than $100,000. Jim Moore, a spokesman for Greenwood Jaycees, said the house at 604 LaReforma Drive encloses 1,750 square feet and has 3 bedrooms, 21/2 baths, a heat pump, and a 21/2 car attached garage. The house is on 1/3 acre. Moore said the house has never been occupied and the winners will be allowed to choose their own make and color of appliances and their own lighting fixtures. Tickets are priced at $100 each, Moore said. The Jaycees and firefighters plan to sell a minimum of 1,000 tickets and a maximum of 1,250. The house, constructed by builder Jim Young, was appraised at $92,000 in May of 1980. Tickets may be purchased from Moore, Dane Meyer, or by writing the Greenwood Jaycees. The winning ticket will be drawn on Nov. 15, Moore said.  (Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal).
