Sprinkler system at nursing home triggers alarms
Area firefighters were called early today when the sprinkler system at Fountainview Nursing Home, 1400 W. Main Street, Greenwood, malfunctioned, triggering alarms at the Greenwood and White River Township Volunteer Fire Departments. Nursing home administrator Jim Alexander said a sprinkler in a corridor in C wing “popped off” and showered the corridor with water. “Whenever the sprinkler system goes off, the fire departments at Greenwood and White River are automatically notified,” Alexander said. The water spread into 10 rooms, but no serious damage occurred, according to fire reports. (Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal)
