Driver injured in Thursday accident

One of the drivers in a three-vehicle accident four miles west of Greenwood Thursday afternoon was treated and released for injuries at St. Francis Hospital, Beech Grove. Deanna L. Huntley, 22, 735 Joy Drive, Greenwood, suffered possible neck and internal injuries and lacerations on the right shoulder and forehead, according to a Johnson County Sheriff’s accident report.  Other drivers in the accident, which occurred at 4:43 p.m. at the intersection of County Line Rd. and S.R. 37, were identified as Willis A. Rosena, 31, Bloomington, and Carl D. Genard, 50, Indianapolis. In the opinion of police officers, Huntley, who was en route east on County Line Road, turned left in front of the Rosena vehicle that was traveling north on S.R. 37 failing to yield right of way. Rosena tried to avoid the crash but had no place to do so because of heavy traffic, they said.  His 1977 model van skidded about 45 feet before striking the Huntley car, a 1977 model sedan, in the right side. It pushed the vehicle around in a semi circle into a 1977 model station wagon that was headed west on County Line Road and driven by Genard, police said.  (Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal)
