No injuries in fire

A fire left burning overnight caused a blaze to breakout today behind the fireplace at the home of Harold and Lillian Bock, 291 Restin Road, in the Carefree North subdivision in White River Township.  Fire officials were unsure if when the blaze may have started. The fire was reported at 8:30 a.m. today when the Bocks awoke to find their home filled with smoke.  Bock told fire investigators he started the fire in the fireplace about 10:00 p.m. Sunday, and he and his wife went to bed at 11:00 p.m.  Bock shut the glass door in front of the fireplace, and fire officials believe that it allowed too much heat in the chimney and eventually led to the wall igniting in fire.  No one was injured in the blaze which fireman fought for about three hours. Damage to the house was estimated at $7,000 while damage to contents in the home was also listed at $7,000.  (Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal)
