Children's Safety

Each year we encounter unusual situations in which strangers approach children waiting for school buses in the morning or after departing from buses in the afternoon. While some of these situations may be innocent or friendly encounters, parents must always be alert to possible dangers to children. We hope each parent will constantly watch for potential threats to children. We hope each parent will constantly watch for potential threats to children. We must watch for adults trying to take advantage of a young child. We must report the strangers who seem to loiter in areas where children are picked up or let out. Don’t hesitate to discuss any potential threat with the principal or someone from the sheriff’s department. By being alert at all times to the possible dangers to children, we should continue our fine record of protecting children’s safety.  (Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal)
