Four injured in two accidents
Four persons were treated and released at area
hospitals for injuries suffered in two accidents on Johnson County roads
Saturday and Sunday. Ernest Troxell, 30, and Janice Troxell, 32, both of
Bloomfield route one, and Marcia J. Landis, 27, Indianapolis, were taken to St.
Francis Hospital, Beech Grove, following an accident at the intersection of
Fairview and Peterman Roads in White River Township at 6:22 p.m. Saturday. In
the opinion of a Johnson County sheriff’s officer, the wreck occurred when a
westbound vehicle driven by Landis did not stop at a stop sign and collided with
another vehicle traveling south and driven by Troxell. Troxell was turning west
from Peterman Road. Daniel L. Durnham, 30, 210 W. Main St., Edinburgh, was taken
to the emergency room of Johnson County Memorial Hospital with lacerations to
the left elbow and pain in the right leg following a Sunday accident at 10:10
a.m. at U.S. 31 and County Road 400S at Amity. Dunham was traveling north on
U.S. 31 on a motorcycle when he left the roadway to avoid a collision with a
truck turning north from County Road 400S. The driver of the truck was
identified as Howard O. Thompson, 63, Franklin route five. Sheriff’s deputies
said Dunham dropped his motorcycle as it struck the gravel at the side of the
road. (Reprinted with permission from the Daily
