LifeLine visits Franklin

Johnson County Memorial Hospital employees and county emergency medical technicians became acquainted Monday with the LifeLine helicopter soon to be in service at Methodist Hospital, Indianapolis.  The ambulance helicopter, which is capable of accommodating two patients, will be used for transfers to Methodist and other Indiana hospitals in a 120-mile radius from Indianapolis.  Beginning July 1, the helicopter will be staffed with a physician and a nurse or paramedic.  Methodist officials indicated the service is not designed to supersede existing ground ambulance services. Methodist Hospital will not establish any contractual arrangements with other hospitals, but will answer needs on a per-call basis from physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians and law enforcement officers (Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal)  See a related story HERE.
