Fighting barn blaze

White River Township firefighters along with crews from the Greenwood and Perry Township, Indianapolis Fire Department battled a barn fire just north of Fairview Road on State Road 135 Thursday afternoon. The barn was destroyed by the blaze, which broke out about 4:45 p.m. Owner of the barn was Gerald Tinkle, 560 North State Road 135. White River sent four units to the scene. Traffic was backed up in the area for several miles and Johnson County and Greenwood Police helped direct traffic through the busy area. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.  (Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal)
