For new radios
A Center Grove Boy Scout troop in the process of disbanding has donated more that $1,250 to the White River Township Fire Department for the purchase of new two-way radios and other needed items. The money was donated by Troop 259 in memory of Robert Harris, a former White River firefighter. Joining in the presentation Tuesday night were, from left, Mrs. Harris, the wife of Robert Harris; White River fire chief Larry Robinson; Troop co-leaders Ethridge Smith, Norman Akers and Don Featherson and scout member Mike Roberts. Along with the donation to the fire department, the troop has also donated money from their treasury and equipment to a church and to a Center Grove area Girl Scout troop.
