Buck injured in accident

Kenneth William Buck, 16, 4445 West Smokey Row Road, Greenwood, was listed in “fair” condition this morning at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove following an Easter Sunday motorcycle accident in front of the Glorious Church of God on Morgantown Road. Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies said Buck was traveling south on Morgantown Road at the time of the accident, which was reported at 12:10 p.m. Deputies said the youth came over the crest of a hill and apparently locked the brakes of his 1978 Honda 550 when he saw a car pulling from the church parking lot. The driver of the car, identified as John R. Keeton, 51, Indianapolis, told police he could not back out of the way of oncoming cyclist because of people walking behind his car. Deputies said Buck slid for approximately 200 feet before he was thrown from the motorcycle. The White River Township rescue unit and Myers Ambulance Service responded to the scene. Deputies said Buck suffered a broken right leg and an arm injury. Keeton was not injured and was not cited by police(Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal)
