County EMTs elect officers
Johnson County Emergency Medical Technicians
elected the following officers Monday at their meeting held at the Johnson
County Memorial Hospital; Sam Williams, reelected president; Dale Bancroft, vice
president; and Judy Young re-elected secretary-treasurer. Dr. Connie Van Valer
spoke on the EMT training program, which will start in the spring, with Dale and
Linda Bancroft teaching the classes. There was a general discussion on the new
ambulance record forms; the exchange equipment program at the hospital; the
possibility of acquiring funds to purchase training slides and audio-video tape
recorders, and future programs with guest speakers. It was stated, reporting to
the hospital on IHERN should be kept short with the chief complaint of the
patient, given first, in his own words if possible, followed by vitals and
related injuries, history and then medication, if any. The next meeting will be
held Monday, Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Johnson County Memorial Hospital
Cafeteria, with Dale Bancroft scheduled to demonstrate the Green splint. EMT’s

Haydon Fleener; Jerry Ramey; James Kelsy; Scott Cotton; jack Wilmoth; Charles
Northcott; Wanetta Fleener; Darrel Fleener; Jim and Velma Markins; Dale and
Linda Bancroft; Rose and Jerry Harrington; Mary Courtney; Richard Johnson; Tom
