Firemen of the year

       As a result of a tie vote, White River Township firefighters selected two firemen of the year for 1978. The award winners, outgoing Chief Bob Wehrman and new Assistant Chief Dale Bancroft, were honored Sunday, at the fire department’s annual Christmas party. His award Sunday marked his third in as many years for Bancroft. Wehrman has served as chief of the department for the past two years, and will be the department treasurer for the coming year. Also honored Sunday were members of the firemen’s auxiliary and Larry and Carol Myers, who operate the Myers Ambulance Service.  (Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal)  See related story HERE.
