Firefighters pick officers
Four Johnson County
firefighters were elected recently as officers of the Tri-County Fire Training
Association. The tri-county group is made up of firefighters in Johnson, Morgan
and Brown counties. Harry Fish, Whiteland, was named director of the group. Also
among the new officers are; Dave Fishell, White River Township, assistant
director; jack Matthews, Franklin, treasurer, and Pat McDaniel, secretary. Mike
Moore, Amity, was named Johnson County’s representative for the group. Other
county representatives named at the bi-monthly meeting held at Bargersville were
Austin Brown, Fruitdale, Brown County, and James Bruner, Mooresville, Morgan
County. The group discussed plans to sponsor a training program in the three
counties and providing training instructors. They also held a discussion about
holding a recruit school in March at Mooresville in Harrison Township as well as
classes on fire instruction and basic arson investigation. More information will
be delivered to individual fire departments. Firefighters with suggestions on
other training schools are asked to call Harry Fish at 535-4124 or Pat McDaniel
