Three injured in accident

Three persons were injured in a three-car crash at the intersection of State Road 37 and State Road 144 about 5:46 p.m. Tuesday. According to State Police Trooper Dave Richards, the accident occurred when a car driven by Arthur Adams, 22, Martinsville, apparently ran a traffic light. Adams, who was southbound on State Road 37, accidentally struck a car driven by Bruce Macy, no age given, Martinsville, sending it into a car driven by Charles M. Fort, 81, Southport. Injured in the accident were three passengers in the Macy car: Bruce Macy, Martinsville, Patty Macy, 30 Martinsville, and Tony Cochenour, 13, Martinsville. The injured were treated and released at Johnson County Memorial Hospital. The accident is still under investigation. Richards said Macy was turning westbound on State Road 144 from the northbound lane of State Road 37 and Fort was stopped eastbound on State Road 144.  (Reprinted with permission from the Daily Journal)
