Firefighter recognition

       William C. Goodwin, center in photo below, Indiana State Fire Marshal, presented certificates and arm patches Tuesday night to members of the Johnson County Fire Association at a dinner meeting hosted by the Edinburg Fire Department. County fire chiefs who accepted awards for their firemen are, from left, Len Lanahan, Needham Fire Chief; Bill Jones, Trafalgar Chief; Wayne Walters, New Whiteland Chief; Bob Reed, Greenwood Assistant Chief; Goodwin; Bill Cantwell, Franklin Fire Chief; Gene Bruner, Whiteland (rural) Chief; Unie Brooks, Nineveh Chief, and Robert Wehrman, White River Township Chief. The certificates designate degrees of proficiency in firefighting.
