Fire Department "hot" on first aid techniques
Recently the eighth grade health classes
watched a demonstration by the White River Township Volunteer Fire Department. Capt. Bancroft did most of the talking while his wife and Asst. Fire Chief
McAllister took care of the “hurt children”. The things they demonstrated were:
different bandaging techniques, air and traction splints, backboard, different
artificial respiration inhalators, food extractors, and shock pants for burn
victims or victims with severe loss of blood. Mr. Bancroft is the captain of the
department and Mrs. Bancroft is the Ladies Auxiliary and ambulance driver. Mr.
McAllister is the Asst. Chief. Though they are on 24 hour call, they don’t get
paid. They took their day-off to come to talk to the eighth grade health class.
Show in the photo below are are firefighters Joe McAllister and Pat McDaniel.
