No business
Though they had no “business” by 1 p.m. Monday, the White River Township Volunteer Fire Department was more than happy. Dale Bancroft, who was “on station” in case of an emergency, Monday described the roads to the station as “really bad.” He said the station was “nearly snowed in,” noting that two station volunteers were stuck in the parking lot. He said County Road 400w, on which the station is located, was nearly drifted shut. A few volunteers who live nearby could get to the station on foot if they needed to, he said, but he was dubious that many of the volunteers could get out in an emergency. Bancroft said anyone who was stranded in the area of the station could take advantage of shelter there. (Reprinted with permission of the Daily Journal)
