White River fire calls answered
White River Township volunteer firemen made runs to extinguish a car and a pick-up truck fire over the weekend, as well as assisted in a search for two missing children. The firemen answered a call Friday at 8:05 p.m. to the Mt. Pleasant Christian Church where a car was on fire in the church parking lot. The 1960 Oldsmobile owned by David Kent of Greenwood route four sustained approximately $50 in damages, according to firemen. On Sunday, the firemen were called to Smith Valley Road, east of the railroad tracks, where a 1962 Chevrolet pick-up truck was on fire. The truck owned by Doug McGill, El Paso, Texas, was damaged an estimated $50. The firemen were also requested by state police and the county sheriff’s department to assist in the search for two lost children at Glendale Trailer Court. The request came at 9:21 p.m. The children Timmy, 4, and Angela Napier, 6, were found in the trailer court after being missing for approximately three hours, according to White River firemen.
