House fire loss $10,000
Damage was estimated at $10,000 Saturday in a house fire at Glenns Valley near the Johnson-Marion County line. White River Township firemen said the blaze occurred at the home of the William Wood family, Greenwood route five. The fire, which was discovered about 8:15 p.m., is believed to have started in the family area next to the kitchen. An electrical failure may have started the fire. There were no injuries. Firemen said the Wood family had left home less than an hour before the fire; they reportedly had gone to Smith Valley to visit friends and watch the state basketball tourney on television.
