Home, trailer scene of fire

Fire destroyed a mobile home in White River Township Saturday afternoon, leaving a family of six homeless and without clothing. In Franklin, a fire did considerable damage to a home on Center Court Street late Sunday morning. The White River fire occurred about 3:45 p.m. Saturday in Sutton’s Trailer Park on State Road 37 (rural route three). Firemen said the fire destroyed the mobile home of the Lowell Huff family. Contents of the mobile home, including home furnishings ad the family’s clothing were lost. A White River Township fireman, William Cecil, was overcome by smoke while fighting the fire. He was treated at the scene. A faulty furnace is believed to have been the cause of the trailer fire. There were no injuries to anyone in the family, firemen said. Firemen from the Bargersville Fire Department assisted White River volunteer firemen.  (Reprinted with permission of the Daily Journal)
