Report head on collision

       Five persons were injured in two traffic accidents reported by Johnson County sheriff’s authorities, including three in a two-car head-on collision Tuesday morning west of Greenwood. In Franklin, meanwhile, five persons were hurt none seriously, in an accident on U.S. 31. Johnson County Deputy Sheriff Robert Bishop said the two-car head-on crash Tuesday morning occurred about 6:50 a.m. on County Road 400 West, a half-mile south of road 1100North in White River Township. Injured were Kenneth Zeimer, 19, Greenwood route two; his wife Linda Zeimer, 18; and Raymond Crouch, 19, Franklin route three. Cars driven by Zeimer and Crouch collided at a hillcrest, deputy Bishop said. Crouch and the Zeimer girl were treated at Johnson County Memorial Hospital in Franklin and were transferred to Indianapolis Methodist Hospital. Kenneth Zeimer was expected to be released from the Johnson County Hospital after treatment in the emergency room. A White River Township Fire Department rescue unit, and Myers and A-1 ambulances were at the scene of the accident. On Monday, sheriff’s authorities reported two persons injured in a car-truck collision on State Road 135 at county road 700North about 7:30 a.m. In the collision were a truck driven by Lowell Waskom, 47, Greenwood route five, and a car driven by Bee Day Jr., 45, 356 Granada Drive, New Whiteland. The two drivers sustained lacerations and bruises, but were not seriously hurt. A police report of a traffic accident occurring Saturday on U.S. 31 at North Main Street in Franklin listed five people hurt, none seriously. Police said cars driven by Catherine Bridges, 52, Bargersville, Leonna D. Weishaar, 60, Franklin route five, and Bryze Gordon, 58, Salina, Kansas, were involved in the accident. Drivers Weishaar and Bridges and Scott Bridges, two years old; Tessie Boaz, 75 Bargersville route one; and Jacob Boaz, 78, route one; were hurt.   (Reprinted with permission of the Daily Journal)
