Call firemen to grass fire

The White River Volunteer Fire Department was called to extinguish a grass fire Sunday afternoon about 1:20 p.m. at the Nessick residence on Morgantown Road.  A trash fire set off the grass fire, which had crossed the road near the residence and was burning on both sides of the lane.  Firemen reported no other property damage at the scene.  The firemen also had been called to Center Grove High School Friday evening around 7:15 p.m. when a transformer blew out.  The power failure occurred during a Center Grove High School basketball game and the firemen brought generators and lights to assist fans in leaving the gymnasium.  See related store HERE(Courtesy of the Daily Journal)
