Firemen answer weekend calls

       The White River Township Volunteer Fire Department answered a fire call and made a first aid run over the recent holiday weekend.  Firemen were called at 8:25 p.m. Saturday to a car fire on S.R. 37 south of Smith Valley Road.  The vehicle involved in the electrical fire was a 1960 Chevrolet owned by James Schartz, 1201 Bluff Crest, Indianapolis.  there was no estimate of damage to the vehicle, according to firemen.  Sunday at 4:20 a.m. the firemen received a first aid call to Lot 33, Wheel Estates in Greenwood.  Mike Marlo, 23, complained of chest pains and was taken by Myers Ambulance to St. Francis Hospital.  (Courtesy of the Daily Journal)
