Fire destroys barn near Bargersville
Fire destroyed a pole barn and its
contents late Thursday morning near Bargersville. The fire was reported by
Ron Elkins, Greenwood Route Three, at 10:45 a.m. Johnson County Sheriff's
authorities said 70 bales of hay, a garden tractor, and other contents of the
pole barn were burned. Estimated damage in the fire was set at $7,000.
Firemen from Bargersville and White River Township were summoned to the fire.
A green hay pile may have been the origin of the fire, but an investigation into
the cause was being continued. The pole barn was 40 by 60 feet in size.
