House fire in White River Township
White River Township volunteer firemen reported extensive damage in a house fire in Carefree Estates late Friday afternoon. The blaze occurred at the home of H.R. Bland, 291 Meander Way about 4:45 p.m. Firemen said no one was home when the fire broke out and neighbors summoned the fire department. White River firemen said the blaze was confined to a bedroom and half-bath area, however there was heat, smoke, and some water damage throughout the house. Firemen said no definite cause of the fire has been determined. Damage could exceed $20,000 in the fire, it was reported. (Courtesy of the Daily Journal)
