Greenwood's rescue school
A part of a statewide training program for rescue workers was completed at Greenwood Sunday. The schooling, which lasted two days concerned the basic techniques of taking trapped people from automobile wreckage. Seventeen fire departments, ambulance attendants and Civil Defense workers participated. Each unit was allowed to enroll two men in the school. Some fifty spectators also saw the schooling presented by the Emergency Squad Training Institute, Inc, of Normal, Illinois, headed by O.B. Streeper and his son. White River Township Volunteer Fire Department was among those represented at the school. (Courtesy of the Daily Journal)
