White River Township firemen extinguished a fire at a home in the Critchfield addition early Tuesday morning before extensive damage occurred.  the fire was reported at the Ernest Rash residence and was discovered about 5:55 a.m. by a newspaper boy delivering the morning paper.  Firemen said the fire started around a fireplace and burned a back wall and portion of the roof in a den at the Rash home.  the family was in the kitchen when paperboy (unidentified) knocked on the door and alerted them of the fire.  No injuries were reported.  Firemen said fire damage was contained to the one room.  (Courtesy of the Daily Journal)
